GPT-5.4 mini or Kimi K3 — which is better in 2026?

We added GPT-5.4 mini to QueryWise on release day and compared it with Kimi K3 using the same types of prompts. The difference is clear: Kimi K3 currently ranks 3th in the QueryWise leaderboard with a score of 9.4, while GPT-5.4 mini ranks 18th with 7.3.

Which model delivers better answers?

Looking at the overall leaderboard, Kimi K3 currently has the edge. That does not mean GPT-5.4 mini is weak: its QueryWise score reflects solid reasoning and reliable coding. However, Kimi K3 sits noticeably higher in the final table and is closer to the leaderboard leaders.

For programming, GPT-5.4 mini scores 7.8, while Kimi K3 scores 9.7. Kimi K3 has the advantage here. It is better suited to reviewing a large project, finding issues across multiple files, and writing code from a detailed technical specification.

The reasoning results also favor Kimi K3: 9.2 versus 8.6 for GPT-5.4 mini. The gap does not make the second answer useless, but Kimi K3 looks more reliable on long chains of conditions, option comparisons, and checks of questionable assumptions.

Speed and price in tenge

Kimi K3 has a median response time of 29 seconds in QueryWise telemetry. There is not yet enough data for GPT-5.4 mini, so we will not invent a number or label it fast or slow.

An average request to GPT-5.4 mini costs about 10 ₸, while Kimi K3 costs around 13 ₸. The difference is small for a one-off question, but it becomes noticeable at hundreds of requests per month.
