MiniMax M3 or Kimi K3 — which is better in QueryWise?
MiniMax M3 and Kimi K3 look similar on paper: both models support a context of up to 1M, and both are available in QueryWise from Kazakhstan. However, Kimi K3 is currently ahead by score — the difference is especially clear in programming.

In QueryWise MiniMax M3 and Kimi K3 answer together — you instantly see where they agree and where they differ.
MiniMax M3 is the more affordable option for everyday requests. Kimi K3 costs more, but ranks 3 in the QueryWise leaderboard and currently handles difficult tasks with noticeably more confidence. Both models can be accessed from Kazakhstan, paid for in tenge, and used with a Russian or Kazakh interface. Three free questions are available to new users at the start.
Response quality: Kimi K3 leads
In the current QueryWise leaderboard, MiniMax M3 scores 7.8 and ranks 13. Kimi K3 scores 9.4 and holds position 3. The gap in the overall assessment is already large enough to feel in everyday work: Kimi more often delivers a finished result on the first try, while MiniMax sometimes needs clarification about the format, constraints, or desired level of detail.
The models are close in reasoning, but the leader is still determined by the current figures: MiniMax M3 scores 9.1, while Kimi K3 scores 9.2. Both models work well for analyzing a difficult article, building a research plan, or checking several conditions. Kimi usually does a better job of maintaining a long chain of reasoning, while M3 can be more convenient when you need a quick draft without unnecessary complexity.
Kimi K3’s advantage is more noticeable in programming. Its current result is 9.7, compared with 8.1 for MiniMax M3. This matters more than a difference in polished wording: a model must not only write a function, but also account for errors, dependencies, input format, and tests.
Where the difference shows up in practice
- Code and debugging. Kimi K3 is the smarter choice for refactoring a project, finding the cause of an error across several files, or writing tests. M3 can handle a small script, an SQL query, and explanations of someone else’s code.
- Study and documents. MiniMax M3 is useful for lecture notes, translating technical text, and preparing exam questions. Kimi K3 is better suited to comparing multiple sources and answering questions where an important caveat must not be overlooked.
- Long tasks. Both models support a context of up to 1M. This is useful when working with large projects, contracts, or archives of correspondence, but a larger context window does not guarantee perfect accuracy: the result still needs to be checked.
Speed and price in tenge
According to our telemetry, Kimi K3’s median response time is 29 seconds. There is not yet enough data for MiniMax M3, so we will not assign it a made-up speed advantage. In an everyday chat, a few dozen seconds is usually tolerable, but delays become irritating when debugging code or working through a document step by step.
In QueryWise, an average question to MiniMax M3 costs approximately ≈10 ₸. For Kimi K3, the cost is approximately ≈13 ₸. M3 is better value if you ask many simple questions: translating, shortening texts, brainstorming post ideas, or checking phrasing. Paying extra for Kimi K3 makes sense when one strong answer saves a programmer time or replaces several rounds of clarification.
We added both models to QueryWise on their release day and tested them on real work scenarios, not just showcase prompts. In the QueryWise interface, they can answer side by side: you can see where MiniMax M3 and Kimi K3 agree, and where one model catches an error in the other’s answer. This is a useful check for important decisions, but neither model replaces a doctor, lawyer, or financial adviser.
An honest verdict
Kimi K3 is ahead by current score, with 9.8? No — that would be a different metric: Claude Fable 5 currently holds first place in the overall QueryWise leaderboard with a rating of 9.8. Within this pair, Kimi K3 is the winner if quality, programming, and reliability are the main criteria. Its current overall score is 9.4, and telemetry shows 100% reliability; MiniMax M3’s reliability has not yet been assessed because there is not enough data.
I would choose MiniMax M3 for inexpensive everyday requests and study drafts. It costs ≈10 ₸ per average question, and its 9.1 reasoning score is convincing. Kimi K3 is my choice for code, long documents, and tasks where reworking an answer costs more than paying a few extra tenge. If your budget is limited, start with M3; if you need a stronger result on the first try, choose K3.
